Beginning at age 13, Aubrey Holman worked on a talent many only dream of. From the intricate guitar to the melodies that stick with you, his level of songwriting and musicianship carry as much weight as the Mississippi is long. You often hear the term, “some are just born with it,” and in this case it’s true.

Aubrey Holman resides in Greenville, MS, heart of the Mississippi Delta and home of some of the greatest blues musicians ever. He comes from a musical family and maybe that’s how it started. He began with piano and bounced around instruments but the guitar seemed to stick. It wasn’t until later in his music career that he even attempted vocals in a live environment.

Garage bands ruled the 90’s and Aubrey found a home with some special guys that probably kicked his talent into high gear. His high school/college bands played enough to keep it fun and gave him the chance to test that vocal ability in a studio environment. It’s very evident nowadays when you hear him live that this guy is a seasoned professional.

After the garage days, Aubrey continued to build his songwriting catalog and released his first solo cd entitled, “Long Dark Trip.” This was the first time you got to hear exactly what he was thinking. With a mixture of songs that were well written, you could feel the tread on the tires growing. His next cd, “Getting Used to the Light,” displayed an intense ability at telling stories and killer guitar to match. A few of the songs require double-takes to realize the depth and meaning, all the while the guitar never leaves the picture.

Now he’s released his most complete cd to date, “Make Me Realize.” This is his first cd recorded with a full band and quality studio time. From the amazing guitar to the testing of the vocal range, you really hear the musician as he was intended. This one’s in his wheel house!! “An Honest Tune” magazine compared the songwriting to Stevie Wonder. It’s an album that will carry through and surely please the most demanding listeners.
